President's Pen

Can you believe it is already October? The Holidays will be here before we know it! This year is just speeding by so fast. I want to thank everyone for all their support these last several months. The guild has really had so many transitions and changing of officers and the membership has been very supportive. Thank you. And thank you for your patience. I think we will finish this year off in a big way.

For those of you that didn't get a chance to go to France you really missed a treat. I plan to go again next year just to see the area again. What beautiful scenery! And Karen, you are a great "cruise director". The hotel was outstanding. The whole adventure was a "10" on my scale. The quilts were lovely , some a little "outside the box" but it was quite an adventure.

This month we may not be having a formal retreat but I think the retreat at the Middle School is going to be a great time for all. Thank you Nancy for the idea and room. I am really looking forward to the Mystery Quilt that Becky is offering and some quality time to quilt and get caught up with some friends. Isn't that what the holidays are all about?  I know the Halloween party will be great also. Please bring your children and let's just have a great time together. We'll share crafting, face painting and fun with them and you can have some free time to quilt and "gab" with your fellow quilters.

I want to give a special thank you to Tina for a SPECTACULAR Christmas Workshop. There was a tremendous turnout and I know all that went had fun and learned a lot. I know that Tina worked very hard to put that together and I want everyone to be sure to give her a big hug. She thought of most of those plans while in her hospital bed this summer.

As the year winds down let's get those machines and fingers to quilting. I know everyone's minds are on presents and the holidays. I look forward to a great Thanksgiving combined meeting, a great election process and I just know we are goin g to end the year with a bang. For our friends in the States I would love to hear what is going on at home so send us some articles and make us jealous. Happy quilting and I'll see you all at Stitch-n-Gab.

With Loving Stitches,

Lisa
