Rheinland Pfalz Quilt Guild

The 2nd Annual RPQG Fall Retreat will be held on October 7-9 at the Hambachtal Resort near Birkenfeld. More details of the weekend will be in the September newsletter. If you haven't attended one of the previous retreats here are some "Pros and Cons" of going:

No kids(or pets) to interuppt you

No dirty dishes (this should count as two)

No phone, email or work at all

You can sew all night!!

Here's how it will work:

SIGN UP. Everyone who is interested fills out the short survey about themselves (find it at the bottom of this page), makes sure they circle the meeting they usually attend, folds it in half, and turns it in to the applicable POC before the January meeting.

SWITCHING SURVEYS. The surveys will be mixed up, and at the January meeting you will get someone else's survey. This will be your Secret Sister until May.

SHHHH! You are asked to keep her in your thoughts through the month, and either send the gift through the Post Office or bring to the monthly meetings. Your gift should be somewhere in the $10-20 range. How creative can you be to show your secret sister that you are thinking of her?

At the May meeting, names will be revealed, and we will exchange final gifts (up to a $20 value) it will be fun to see who has who!!

We'll be taking signups now until the January meeting, when you'll get your Secret Sister's name. Remember, don't tell anyone; that's part of the fun. You can down load the form at the bottom of this page.

Instead of doing a Fat Quarter Drawing every month, we will be doing 3 Mini-programs and alternate them. They are Fat Quarters, 5-inch Charm & a block Drawing. I will rotate the 3 in order each month, only changing the stipulations of the drawing. Here is the next Mini-program & some details about it:

May- 5-inch Charm Swap

We will be doing White on White in honor of all of you June Brides!

June- 8-inch Block

This works just like the fat quarter drawing, except you bring in an 8-ich block! This month we will be making an 8-inch Heart any color, style or kind, as long as it is on an off-white background.

July- Fat qtr Drawing-Patriotic

August: Autumn Color 5-inch Charm Swap

September: Block Drawing

This one should be fun! It is an 8-ich "Back to School" block, i.e. apple, books, etc...
